Les cousins...

Dans le Métro

The boys I am going to miss while I am away in India...!

Les manèges

These rides are called "manèges" here - and that's one of the new French words Louis has started to say - along with merci, bonjour, rouge, vert, jaune and a few others.

This is last weekend - he had a great time on them - I nearly had a heartattack watching but there you go!

Kisses to you all, am off to India on the morrow!

Louis can't believe his eyes..!

And neither, frankly, could we. This is the feast that Florence made SINGLE-HANDEDLY for Mattieu's Profession de la Fois - incredible.

We spoke about it with another friend a few days later who said she thought that Frenchwomen are simply raised to expect themselves to be capable of such culinary mastery!

To fully appreciate this spread, I HIGHLY recommend you double click on the pic.

Saturday morning on rue Royal

My loves!

And the other night chez Annamaria ... Mum - double click on this one - I think you'll like it large!

La vie en rose...

These orange roses were in a bouquet we bought for Florence when we went there for lunch the other day. I actually almost got teary over them. O stopped in the car and I zoomed over and chose the roses and white flowers from outside the shop, went inside with them and handed them to a relatively macho looking guy who asked if they were for a gift, and I said yes.

So he proceeded to give them the Full French Wrapping Treatment (at no extra charge) which took about five minutes and involved firstly laying all the flowers out on the counter side by side, then carefully picking up one stem at a time and sort of wrapping the stems around each other so they were perfectly arranged. Then he wrapped the entire bouquet in a sheet of tissue paper and again with a layer of clear cellophene, and a flourish of cotton ribbon.

Seriously, it made me teary; the beauty, the care, the simplicity, the style! Paris. What's *not* to love?!?!

Louis likes French food...

Especially baguettes and salami. This is him exploring a whole new supermarket - or "Ket Ket" as he calls it - our local Monoprix.
